Thriving Forward Project

Thriving Forward Project Mission Statement

Thriving Forward Project advocates for better trauma-aware solutions for the millions of young, minority youth who suffer from unresolved trauma in the US and beyond.

We provide survivors with the trauma-informed tools, resources and supportive partnerships needed to reclaim their lives. Through mental health, career and housing programs and outreach, our goal is to uplift, empower, and foster healing so the youth we work with can become thriving, independent adults.

Thriving Forward Project is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, CA.

Founder

Motivated by his own story of trauma and resilience, Thriving Forward Project was founded by  Francis Chukwuemeka Amene, an American, born and raised in Africa.

He is an Activist and Life Coach who was called to launch a nonprofit organization while doing mission training in Hawaii, where he received life-changing healing from unresolved childhood trauma. With an MAT in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, our founder continues to provide life coaching and mentoring services to youth through his extensive training as an ordained minister, and as a volunteer life skills coach to justice-involved youth through Detention Centers in Los Angeles.

Emeka believes in overall health (Mind, Body and Soul) as the pathway to a happy fruitful life. With his creative side (member of SAG-AFTRA), Emeka is working on his vision to use his own powerful storytelling as a tool for healing others.

Following in the footsteps of his mother, his first role model, who started the Kings Village Oasis of Love Orphanage, Retreat Center and School in Nigeria, Emeka is actively fundraising to create a US-based community of Thrivers, providing resources and a safe, transitional space for sheltering displaced youth and trauma survivors searching for healing.
